Mission Statement |

The Ministry of Labour and Human Resource Development one of its key roles under the Kiribati Development Plan is to explore employment opportunities for I-Kiribati nationals overseas and skills development for its human resource to meet the local and overseas Labour market demand.
Given this important role, the Ministry of Labour and Human Resource Development is responsible for Maritime and Vocational Training Institutes to fulfill its commitment in pursuing employment opportunities in these fields for I-Kiribati nationals abroad.
1. Maritime Training Institutes
a) Marine Training Centre (MTC)
The Institute trains our young boys and girls to be qualified seafarers in line with the IMO standards; STCW 95.
b) Fisheries Training Centre (FTC)
The FTC offers training on various fishing techniques Purse-seine, Pole and line and long line.
2.Vocational Training Institute
Kiribati Institute of Technology
a) The Kiribati Institute of Technology (KIT) provides training focusing on apprenticeship skills. |
