Decent Work Agenda Steering Committee

This tripartite committee is comprised of Government representatives, Employer's Organization and Employees' representatives. Representatives from the employer's organization and trade union are the President and one other nominee.

This committee is tasked to:

  1. To help motivating workers in the public and private sectors in the performance of their duties within the context of the Decent Work Agenda so as to contribute to the materialization of the Ministerial Operational Plans, Public Enterprise Business Plans and ultimately the Kiribati Development Plan that to seeks to enhance a vibrant economy.
  2. To ensure labour laws revisions is completed within the shortest time possible to facilitate labour law reform in line with international labour standards.
  3. To set up Technical committees as the Steering Committee may think fit from time to time to address issues that are of the interest to the Steering Committee and to advise the Hon. Minister on how best such issues could be intergrated into the Decent Work Agenda.
