The MLHRD has set up the Labour Division which looks after the Scheme in Kiribati. The Government of Kiribati is so committed to PSWPS that the Labour Division enjoys a Government subsidy to fund our work which means that we can provide a free service to employers who want to recruit from Kiribati.

Why Kiribati?
Your decision to consider our workers as part of your solution of labor shortages will not only bring positive changes to your work place but it will also be counted as a valuable assistance to victims of the Climate Change.
Among the 5 RSE Kick States, the Kiribati people suffer the most in terms of Climate Change Impact.
For us sea level rise is no longer a myth but a reality and it has taken its toll on our island earlier than predicted.
Our people are facing the direst and immediate consequences ranged from inundation of coastal areas where the majority of inhabitants reside, loss of freshwater supplies, diminution of biodiversity, destruction of critical infrastructure, and a substantial increase in the incidence of serious diseases, e.g. diarrhoea and flu.
Financial empowerment is required to allow the Kiribati people to cope with the hardships emerged at a wake of climate Change Impacts.
Providing an opportunity to earn money thru employment under the Recognize Seasonal Employment Scheme is a viable mean of addressing the potential threat on the people of this small island nation, Kiribati.
If such scientific prediction on climatic impacts comes true, relocation to overseas countries will take place without much problem. Exposing to NZ working environment thru RSE Scheme will enable our workers to adapt easily and become important contributors in the host countries rather than becoming problematic refugees.
3. Code and Ethics
4. Roles of the Leader
5. Experienced returned workers share experience to the new workers
6. Basic financial literacy training
