The agency is established since 2007 and actively involve in the recruitment of I-Kiribati fishers for employment aboard overseas Fishing vessels.
Selection for Recruitment:
KEMS select fresh graduates who have undergone proper training on various fishing techniques with the Fisheries Training Centre (FTC).
KEMS has established relationship with the Japan Marine Services Company Limited (JMS) in Japan and there are about 100 I-Kiribati fishers recruited through the latter who have secured employment on the following Japanese fishing vessels:-
